Organization Summary: Expressive Path is a 90% mobile nonprofit located in Norristown, PA. We provide free and reduced cost creative art and music workshops for underserved teens ages 12-19. We give them the opportunity to showcase their talents in the community through art exhibitions, performance, and community service.
We are prioritizing Drawing, Painting, Drama, Guitar, and Piano teachers but all mediums are encouraged to apply! Undergraduate students accepted. We occasionally offer remote opportunities but are primarily looking for artists that can teach in person. We can provide lesson materials and curriculum.

Reports to: Executive Director, Program Directors
Teaching Artist Primary Responsibilities:
- Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons to all students in the class
- Teaching according to the educational needs, abilities, and achievement of the individual students and groups of students
- Ensures the confidentiality of all students
- Promotes the general progress and well-being of individual students, groups of students or class entrusted to him/her
- Maintains a relaxing, engaging classroom.
- Teaches character, respect, accountability
- Provides and follows a Tools for Success contract when applicable and encourages student input and completion of goals
- Assessing, recording, and reporting on the development, progress, and impact of the students
- Makes all scheduled classes or gives proper notification
- Provides guidance and advice to students on educational and social matters and on their further education and future careers, providing information on sources of more expert advice
COVID-19 considerations:
Expressive Path holds classes in person and virtually. We follow school district recommendations for Covid-19 precautions.
Note: This job requires a 2 year commitment. Typically this looks like 2, 6-week courses per year minimum. We make it a priority to work with our instructor’s schedules!
