Our Promise to You!
If you do not secure employment or graduate school within six months of Commencement, after completing the terms of the Saints Promise, then Saint Martin’s will guarantee a three-month paid internship or tuition-free enrollment to a Saint Martin’s graduate program for one semester*.

As a Saints Promise student, you will have opportunity to:
- Purposefully engage with your faculty advisor to connect your academic program to your career
- Meet potential employers
- Get advice from Saint Martin’s alumni
- Participate in activities designed to help you learn about your interests and strengths
- Gain experiential learning you can use on your resume
- Increase you career readiness competency
We believe that when students invest in career planning (see below for required career planning activities) they successfully obtain employment or graduate school after graduating within four years.
Research supports that early engagement with career planning activities support positive outcomes for students as well as increase their career readiness. The National Association of Colleges and Employers have identified 8 competencies directly liked to career readiness. They are:

Career planning activities required of Saints Promise students to be completed in the year listed:
- Complete the Career Launch Survey by early September
- Activate Handshake and Saints Ready profiles and do initial job search activityÂ
- Complete personality and career interest assessment (TypeFocus)
- Attend a Vocation workshop (or complete the virtual option)
- Complete the Career Launch Survey by early September
- Submit initial resume after it’s reviewed with an Internship Navigator
- Complete an Information Interview or Job Shadow with Alumni
- Complete a Career Trek (or complete the virtual option)
- Complete the Career Launch Survey by early September
- Complete MoneyEDU (financial literacy workshop)
- Do an Experiential Learning/Internship (non- or for-credit)
- Attend a Job & Internship Fair
- Complete Career Launch Survey by early September
- Complete Mock Interview with an Internship Navigator
- Attend Job & Internship Fair OR other networking event
- Submit final cover letter, resume, and diversity statement after it’s reviewed with an Internship Navigator
- Complete the First Destination Survey at the end of Senior Year (can be done at Grad Fair)
- Have a 3.0 gpa at graduation
- Have no conduct issues
- Have good financial standing with St. Martin’s at graduation
