Hannah Montgomery
Assistant Director of the Center for Career & Calling
Hannah Montgomery works as the Assistant Director in the Center for Career & Calling. Hannah graduated from Pacific Lutheran University ‘22 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs & Anthropology. In the past she has worked in marketing and media for PLU’s Lute Air Student Radio and The Mast Newspaper as Editor-in-Chief, The Prague Visitor magazine, DLR Group, and Pierce County 4-H. Hannah also worked as an Americorps volunteer at Wa He Lut Indian School where she taught K-5 students phonics and reading instruction. She is a PNW native and loves exploring her home state.
Emily Rich
Program Coordinator of the Center for Career & Calling
Dr. Emily Rich works as the Program Coordinator for the Center for Career and Calling. She earned a PhD in English from the University of California Davis, where she studied Appalachian literature and critical theory. Before joining Saint Martin’s, she worked as an instructor and staff member at universities in California and North Carolina.

Internship Navigator - CBET
Olivia Rackham works as the Internship Navigator for Business, Engineering, and Technology students in the Center for Career & Calling. Olivia graduated from Saint Martin’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2020 and a Master of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs in 2025.
She spent a few years in K-12 schools teaching English, Leadership, and college & career readiness classes like AVID before transitioning into the higher education space working in Student Life at South Puget Sound Community College, TRIO Upward Bound at Centralia College, and the Saint Martin’s University School of Business.
In the past, she also worked at a gym, as a nanny, in a small-town toy store, and as a housecleaner at the same time to help pay for school. Olivia studied abroad for a semester in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 2019 and has made short term trips abroad to Argentina, Czech Republic, Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy, and Germany since then. She loves adventuring near and far and is an avid crafter in her free time.

Internship Navigator - CASE & SHAH
Jan Schmitt-Craven works as the Internship Navigator for students in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education as well as the School of Health and Allied Health. Jan graduated with a B.A. in Secondary Special Education, and an M.A. in Education (Reading Disabilities) from the University of Iowa. She taught in secondary special education classrooms, elementary education classrooms, and was a Graduate Assistant for the University of Iowa Children’s Reading Clinic.
After a career in classroom teaching and various volunteer coordinator positions in her community, Jan returned to graduate studies at Saint Martin’s University, completing her M.Ed. in the Higher Education and Student Affairs Program. She specifically chose the field of supporting college populations in higher education to pivot from her previous teaching career. Higher Education experiences have included Academic Advising, Career Services, and a Research Fellowship Studying Advocacy for Transfer Students.
Jan loves nature and the outdoors, traveling, reading, music, the arts, cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends. It is her highest honor to be supporting the academic to career journey of students at Saint Martin’s, as well as the campus community in general.
